I have to confess that I made a stupid mistake in lab today. (Me so dumb.....)
I put 100% ice-cold ethanol, which is not quite right, in stead of 70% isopropanol in to the tubby thing. I was so shocked and thought that I screwed all the DNA extrations and I'm dead.......But after I gave it a thought, it shouldn't be that bad since the 2 solutions are both alcohol. Thank God that Tim, our king of biochem in lab, said that it's perfectly okay to extract DNA with 100% ethanol, the only thing I have to do is just simply double the amount.
Phew~~ What a relief!!
Prof. Floss will hold an emergency lab safty meeting, which has never been held before, on one of the Tuesdays. It seems like the meeting is gonna be a very serious one coz the person in charge of our lab was like extremely angry on the other day for radioactive materials spilt.
Oh well....The meeting will make me to change my violin class schedule again........SHXT.....
