機動戰士軍團 大戰 酷斯拉
你知道嗎, 睡覺的姿勢真的不能像殭屍一樣.....
昨天晚上我真的累到不行, 一倒在床上就睡到天昏地暗, 可是不知怎麼地, 在我做了一個怪夢驚醒之後, 發現我睡覺的姿勢跟殭屍一樣, with my 雙手放在我肚子上~~
故事是這樣的:
我家住在一個深山的社區裡, 社區的入口還有一個大型遊樂設施, 可以把人轉來轉去的那種. 不知道怎麼著, 有一天忽然來了一隻"酷斯拉", 見人就吃. 所以大家就四處逃竄, 可是那隻酷斯拉很聰明, 知道有光的地方就有人, 而且會偵測"會移動"的東西.
正當大家慌忙逃命之時, 在下小女子我卻是到便利商店搶購食物存糧, 然後我就背著一整個背包的食物, 外加兩大袋的東西, 飛奔向我家逃去. 我們全家人都在位於社區山頂的家, 所以我可以趁酷斯拉還沒到山頂之時就回到家. 我們把窗簾全部拉起來, 在家裡使用小手電筒和蠟燭來照明. 我們一家人雖然害怕, 可是至少全家人是在一起, 所以稍微安心一點. 外加我們有食物補給, 就算酷斯拉要耗在這裡幾天也沒關係......
就在這時, 我偷看窗外山下的酷斯拉的蹤跡, 發現他正在跟那個遊樂設施搏鬥, 因為社區出動了機動戰士部隊 (機動戰士部隊 = 現在的警察) 正在想辦法利用那個遊樂設施打敗酷斯拉. 可是神奇的酷斯拉卻沒有被轉昏, 反而還把那個遊樂設施打爛.....
忽然, 我看到我家鄰居Connie在樓下的陸上狂奔, (Connie我現在的鄰居, 在夢裡也是我的鄰居) 所以為了救Connie, 我跑到樓下叫她, 讓她上樓. 可是....... 被該死的酷斯拉看見我--會動的生物!! 酷斯拉立刻放下他嘴裡的whatever, 朝我狂奔過來... 我第一件事就是快快關上我家的超厚不繡鋼門, 然後我自己跑到我家頂樓的機動戰士總部, (我家樓梯也全都站滿了機動戰士) 他們把我放進一個用不繡鋼做的大轉輪裡 (是用來保護證人的), 不讓酷斯拉看見我.
接著機動戰士藉著強大的數量及武器, 將酷斯拉節節擊退.....

天母西路
從小走到大的一條路, 哪一家店的前身是哪一家店都瞭若指掌.
忠誠路
大葉高島屋是我常去的地方. "天母欒樹節"就是在這兒.
士林夜市
從小吃到大的一地方. 自從到美國後, 回台必經之地!!
中正紀念堂
喜歡他的夜景. 越長大就越喜歡. 曾經在廣場狂揮國旗叫阿扁下臺.
凱達格蘭大道
2000年去升旗, 心中無比澎派. 曾經在廣場抗議, 被某電視台拍下來, 廣在歐洲流傳.
淡水老街
越長大就越喜歡"老"的東西. 喜歡看人來人往的碼頭.
台北車站
與朋友相約出遊到台北以外的地方都是約在這裡, 所以這裡對我來說是充滿精奇與希望.
中正機場
這裡給我很多感觸. 出境以後, 一切靠自己; 入境之後, 回家的感覺真好!!
中山北路
*南下*台北的必經之路, 沿途有很多熟到不行, 卻又叫不出名字的建築.
(PS, 中山北路六段以南簡稱"南部"......!@#$%^&*)
Hong Kong
干德道
國小自己去香港的處所. 中環半山.
漢基國際學校 (CIS)
My summer school. "街頭學校霸王"和"逃學威龍"就是在這裡拍的啦~~ 只是校名在電影中被改成"聖育強中學". (聖育強用廣東話唸起來跟"性慾強"是一樣的音. 豬頭!!)
尖沙嘴
大學之後去香港都住這裡的hotel, 主要是因為這裡能看到香港半島的夜景, 又近最新的"星光大道". Hotel後面有一堆好吃好玩好逛的地方.
大嶼山
大佛像所在. 這裡就像是香港的"高級鄉下度假區", 空氣好到不行, 沙灘美到像畫. 夏天要是能到這裡的沙灘BBQ, 真可說是人生一大樂事.
南ㄚ島
吃海鮮就坐船要來這裡. 這裡的餐廳都是戶外的, 所以可以一邊吃"瀨尿蝦", 一邊看海景.
維港 (Victoria Harbour)
超夢幻的夜景就是這裡!! 晚上坐船在維港漂啊飄的, GOD!! 讓我移民香港吧!!!
赤柱
香港充滿異國風情的地方, 沿路有許多室內和戶外的咖啡廳, 又是個欣賞日落的好所在. 另外, 這裡也是shopping的好地方, 我就是在這裡買到香港風景的油畫2幅.
會展
為紀念香港回歸所建的. 造型就像一隻烏龜, 據迷信的香港人說, 香港地處龍穴, 還要一隻神龜陪伴才行...... 我喜歡在會展前的河堤看風景.
蘭桂坊
到香港沒來這裡等於沒來香港. 小小的一條街, 卻到處都是人, 而且越晚人越多. 這裡全是充滿特色的pub/bar. 電影"重慶森林"的快餐店就在這裡.
傭記
就在蘭桂坊的隔壁, 全香港坐出名的燒辣店. 但我覺得不只是燒臘, 其他的東西也都好好吃!!!!!!!!!
Seattle
College Place #804
來西雅圖第一個住的地方. 在這裡認識許多好朋友.
Gaswork Park
心情不好在這裡看夜景, 心情好也來這裡看夜景. 每年的國慶煙火也是在這裡看.
Garfield St.
來西雅圖第五年了, 卻只去過一次, 可是還是很喜歡這裡. 那次是第一次到美國來的Jack帶我來的, 有夢幻的美術館.
Pike's Place
大家都喜歡的地方, 可以看到西雅圖剛剛發源的感覺. "西雅圖夜未眠"也有到這裡取景. 好多home-made的東西的小攤子.
#1 Starbucks
Starbucks的發源地就是西雅圖的Pike's Place Market. 只要是觀光客, 都會來這世界上第一家星巴克喝上一杯香香濃濃的Starbucks coffee.
Eastlake
湖畔有很多好好吃的餐廳, 是一個邊吃飯邊看西雅圖湖上夜景好地方!!
downtown
常常自己一個人背著包包就在downtown逛來逛去. 也不知道為什麼, 就是喜歡看來來去去的人. 有Old Navy, GAP, Banana Republic, Kennith Cole, Nike Town, Levis, Adidas, See's chocolate, Tiffany & CO, Victoria's Secret......
Chinatown
大學的時候, 常常跟朋友凌晨1, 2點到這裡吃東西. 我也常常來Uwajimaya買菜.
UW
每天在這裡混, 我想, 我畢業以後應該會非常懷念這裡的一草一木吧!!
Leavenworth
西雅圖東邊的一個夢幻德國小鎮. 在這裡可以品嚐到具特色的德國啤酒和德國豬腳!!!
Sydney
The Rocks
Shopping市集. 是跟人話家常的好地方!!
Harbour Bridge
我看過最美的橋!! 可以走汽車和火車, 橋的纜繩上還可以走人. XD
Opera House
一個特別到不行的建築物. 他的建築外牆跟室內是完全分離的, 有就是說, 我們可以把他的外牆完全打掉, 然後室內的設施還可以完好如初. 事實上, Opera House 的結構並不適合做演奏廳, 所以廳內加設了很多輔助設施.
Circular Quay
Opera House附近的轉車中心. 我很喜歡看這裡很多人走來走去, 人來人往的感覺.
U of Sydney
也算是我的學校吧!! 當時如果沒來美國, 我就是這間學校畢業的喔!!!
QVB (Queen Victoria Building)
Shopping 和轉車的中心. 非常具英國氣息的地方.
AMT
記得我去的時候都快關門了, 好心的管理員讓我跟舅舅上到塔頂, 看了雪梨的夜景之後, 開開心心地逛過Hyde Park才回家~~
Artarmon
Vinci住的地方, 也是我第二次去雪梨的住所. 在這裡認識KT弟弟的同學, Eddy, Jason, Sandy還有 Jacky和 Tim.
train
"Red travel pass, please!!" 是我一個星期要跟售票員講的一句話, 而且我已經可以講的非常有"澳洲腔"!!
Darling Harbour
近市中心一個非常漂亮的港口. 周末晚上有很多活動都在這裡舉行. 而且這裡的辦公大樓晚上都不關燈, 使這裡的夜景更加迷人!!
(寫完這麼多, 發現"Hong Kong"我寫的最輕鬆, 怪了.....)

Grading can be lots of fun!!!
12 of us spent like 7 hours total in a tiny room with only 1 table in to finish all the grading for 550 exams yesterday. It requires a lot of patience to finish the whole thing in just hours of course, but on the other hand, we had a lot of fun talking about crazy students.
Some students just don't even have a clue what they are doing, and just randomly wrote down whatever equation they know which has nothing do to with the problem itself. For example, the problem asks "entropy", but they give "enthalpy"......
Some other students wrote their answer all over the place. They first wrote down something, and probably figured it's wrong some how, then cross the things out. They drew "arrows" and try to lead us to their answers. But the problem is, they have arrows *everywhere*, and we just don't know where to start.......
Some students had the right answer, but 不知道哪根筋不對, cross the right answers out, then put down something really stupid instead.
Some students don't even bother doing the re-check, and rather spent time drawing pictures. I saw one of them had this "I LOVE CHEMISTRY" with a funcky chemist on his/her exam. You might guess he/she is crazy about chemistry and would get a pretty nice score. But turned out that he/she got 23/100 on the midterm........
Some of the students are like can't even write thier own names...
I had one student in the pile named Lekerd Saucen-*ish* (cuz I can't really tell....), but turned out to be Leland Savage.......
And we had a very hard time to figure out students' sections if they don't put it down on the exam.
Justin: "So, who has Chen Lee in his section??"
Paul: "I have Lee Chen but no Chen Lee."
Claire: "So, who has hair-uni-ssa P!@#$%^^...??"
Mimi: "That's mine....." (as a matter of fact, I can never get her name right either. XD)
TAs kept tracing all the *low scores*!!
Steve: "Oh!! We have a single digit person here!!" (That means the student got less than 9/100 on the midterm)
All the TAs: "Geez....God bless him!"
Some time later~~~~
Venky: "Oh!! We have a *score holder* here!! He/She got 4/100!! I don't think any body can beat that!!" (For the entire exam, he/she got only 1 multiple choice right, and it worths 4 points.)
All the TAs: "muwahahaha~~ Whose student is that?????"
Steve: "That would be mine...."
All the TAs: "wahahahaha~~Steve, you score!!"
And Mike kept telling us how can he possibly get an electricity bill over $250 last 2 months. Paul told us that his student don't even bother *memorizing* his name, ethier think his name is "TA", or even just snap fingers say "yo!!". Paul was like @#$%^&*..........
Anyway. Exams are like flying all over the room and we have piles and piles to them......
We had a lot of fun grading even thou it's tiring. Prof. Kwiram even bought us some snack!! I think we're gonna have a total blast when we grade the final, and have a pizza party when grading as well!!!
After all the grading, we had one 100/100, and one 4/100. What an exam!!

真不知道是他們要考還是我要考, 我還爆認真的一題一題地做他們的practice problem. 也果不其然地今天一天之內e-mail信件爆增.......

這些全部都是大家在國中就學過了的東西, 轉成英文版, 大家就掛了.....
其實我也掛的七七八八, 因為要花很多時間解釋概念.
加油吧!!我想我明天會過的很慘淡, 因為一天之內要改完550份考卷不是說笑的!!

反正不管如何, 希望他們兩個會有個happy ending, 不過可能今年暑假大家一起去"鄉下"玩的時候, T小姐會被我們這一群"極度瘋狂"的天母人給嚇跑了....... XD

話說....(哎喲..好久沒來寫blog了說 XD)
昨晚睡前看了從香港買回來的王家衛的2046
媽啊!! 看的我頭昏腦脹!#$%^&*
如果你看重慶森林, 你還可以跟上節奏找出故事脈絡
但是看2046.....I was totally lost.. :(
唯一的感想 ---- 木村拓哉好有型!!! (去!! 完全不像一個TA該說的話...)
*必須承認"發展遲緩"的事實, 因為我想我比一般小女生遲緩個10年左右...... 最近腦中一直擺脫不掉木村拓哉帥到斃的假象, 還偷偷download數首SMAP的歌.....自爆... XD*

今天在 quiz section 上完課之後, 忽然有一個小朋友跑過來跟我相認
因為被他一說, 我才發現我今天穿了"華大海外同學會"的 sweatshirt. Hahaha~~ 能跟台灣大一新生相認也不錯!!

（金邊訊）國際扶輪第3520地區台北扶輪社聯合國際服務團上週六晚在總統酒店舉行慶功宴，慶祝在柬埔寨的義診、賑濟活動圓滿結束。
服務團團長、台北華朋扶輪社社長XXX對在本次活動中捐出資金、物資的台商們表示感謝，並向本次活動的組織者陳啟禮勛爵頒發了感謝狀。
同時獲得感謝狀的還有參加義診的全民醫院、新金邊中央醫院、國際醫院、森森醫院和第一中山醫院。
XXX社長表示，“感謝狀雖然是薄薄的一張紙，但飽含感恩之心，感激之情。”
有台商在宴會上表示，能夠為救助柬埔寨百姓出一份力感到榮幸，希望今後繼續組織類似活動，在柬台商仍將積極參與。

Hey,
My name is Sxxxxx and I'm in your section AE. I was wondering if you could go over perhaps two or three of the titrations for the second prelab.
The one where you are trying to find the PH. I was wondering if you could do 0.00mL and perhaps 1 or two of the other ones.
I konw it's hard to explain stuff through e-mail but your office hours aren't in time for when the lab is due. :(

For the 0.00 mL NaOH, think about how you calculate Ka. Apply the ICE box, you do this:
{X^2 / [H+]-X }= Ka
Does it ring the bell??
And one exmple for titration, use pH = pKa + log [base]/[acid]

Let's say it was you answering the problem from Pre Lab # 2.
Can you show me all the steps you would do in order to to calcuate the PH after adding 0.100M NaOH to Acetic Acid. What is the pH if you add 0.00 mL or 5.00 mL.
How would you go about solving it from start to finish. I kind of wanted to see that.

有時想想, 自己真是個 total loser
不敢認真付出 是因為害怕得不到想要的結果
說出來都沒人信
2000年5月 買了張機票
自己一個人 一股腦地飛往雪梨大學
沒頭沒腦地就考進醫學院
2000年7月放棄學籍
飛往西雅圖
2003年12月
毫無準備就衝進testing center考GRE
因為怕就算投資的時間進去
考出來的成績也會不盡理想
結果
2004年3月
上了一間奇怪學校的博士班
因為據我所知, 申請這間學校研究所的人, 沒一個好下場
當成功來的太容易
你就會開始懷疑人生失去挑戰
然後積極尋找下一個目標
我現在就落的如此這般田地
"哪裡有困難, 我就往哪裡去"
我只證明了一件事 ----

To all members of the University community:
All of us are stunned at the enormous loss of life and devastation visited upon South Asia by Sunday's earthquake and tsunamis. Many University students, faculty, and staff members have roots or ties in the countries affected Indonesia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, India, and half a dozen others. To those members of our community, I extend deep sympathy and sorrow on behalf of your University friends and colleagues. For you, the grief we all feel is much sharper and more painful. Our hearts go out to you and your families.
As far as we have been able to determine, all UW students, faculty, and staff who are currently in South Asia are safe. For this we are very thankful.
The need for help in the region is huge. Members of the University community have already begun to contribute to relief organizations of their choice to help alleviate suffering around the Indian Ocean. If you wish to contribute, you can find lists of agencies in the local and national papers. Two places to start might be the International Response Fund of the American Red Cross (www.redcross.org) and CARE (www.care.org).
The scale of this disaster is almost beyond comprehension. For all its victims, we at the University of Washington feel profound sympathy.

Now, look at the time. It's 4:20am in the early morning, and you are right again ---- Mimi's jet-lagged AGAIN!! Geeeeez.....
So, 為了對付我的時差, 我拿了一片我在香港買的VCD出來看. 這是一片與眾不同的VCD, 是香港第一個脫口秀 ---- 黃子滑棟篤笑. 我想我一定看著看著就會睡著, 因為反正跟英文的talk show一樣聽不懂..... 不過我錯了, 我竟然笑的超大聲, 一直看到完, 害我超high的.....
慘了, 我還要睡耶............................. >.<"

COMCAST ROCKS!!
I know it's gonna work every single time!
Just simply call comcast and tell them that you want to disconnect the service, and tell them that it's becuase you can't afford the service............... Then they'll just give you a great discount offer for at least 3 months. Like I called them 5 min ago, a cute guy offers me $29.99 for 6 months.
