Remembering CIDR Director Donald H. Wulff
Our friend and colleague Don Wulff passed away on February 17, 2008. Don was Director of CIDR, Associate Dean of the Graduate School, and Affiliate Faculty in the Department of Communication. Don was well-known for his many roles in advancing in teaching and learning throughout the university, and we will long remember him for his insightful and inclusive leadership, his wise and gracious words, his generosity of spirit, and his joyous laughter. The UW community will gather to celebrate Don’s life on March 10 at 2:00 p.m. in the Walker-Ames Room, Kane Hall. To help us plan for refreshments, please let us know if you are able to attend by sending your rsvp to Brenda Kelly at CIDR, bjkelly@u.washington.edu, with RSVP in the subject line.
The UW Foundation has established a fund in Don’s name that will be used to support UW students, faculty, and staff in research, travel, and other activities that advance the scholarship of teaching and learning. If you would like to contribute to this fund, please visit the Donald H. Wulff Fund for Advancing Teaching and Learning.
Finally, we know that Don touched many lives, and we would like to celebrate Don’s life by collecting memories from his friends and colleagues around the world. If you have stories, reflections, or photos that you would like to share with Don’s family and with one another, please send them to us at RememberingDon@cidr.washington.edu.
We will pass your messages along to his loved ones, and we will post excerpts at http://depts.washington.edu/cidrweb/Don/

HAPPY 2008, THE YEAR OF RAT!!!
Just read Hei's blog, and it's my first time getting to know more about how he thinks. So deep and so heavy for the first day of the year.
I can foresee it's gonna be a significant year for Mimi in many aspects: 1. Haven't talked to that person for a whole year in 150 hours. It's almost been an year, and I think Mimi can survive in the next 150 hours. That person is fading away for all of us for sure..... 2. Being a kind of person she's always wanted to be. But first please let her pass the crucible. 3. Being an adult but it seems like Mimi's rebellious phase just begins...... 4. Dinner table finally sees the ceiling as of Mimi's bed finally sees the sunshine after the end-of-year clean up. Mimi now rules her room. 5. In the same stage with some of the Wes' ladies....... Just heard from Lily that Jessmin is coming back, and Q is in her deep thinking............. (and I believe Lily is in a quasi-period) 6. It's about time to get a new PC. Humm......maybe plus an Eee PC. 7. The flat had just remodeled, but Mimi's is sick of staying outside the town cuz it takes too much time commuting. Let's sell the flat....... (ha, dreaming.) 8. Mimi needs to lose her weight ever since her graduation. People, please give her a hand!! 9. Mimi is being dry for months and she needs to read more books to stimulate her nearly-dead brain cells. 10. Hit the jackpot for just once.... PLEASE......
Wish you all a very happy 2008!!!
